René Alvarez Mäkelä is a spanish artist that lives and works in Palma de Mallorca, in his Santa Catalina studio. His creative universe is involved in Pop icons and his inspiration feeds through common places, fashion, street scenes, books, movies, television or the musical universe to create each one of his pieces and convert them in a unique piece of Pop and Street Art.
In his big format canvas he use oilpaintings, acrylics and different textures that creates a big impact. The Pop icons serie was a succes of critics and public that highlighted the succes of the fluor colors in his portraits.
His work has been exposed in galleries of L.A (California) Palma de Mallorca, Ibiza, Madrid, Barcelona and in the near future New York.
René has a degree in Advertising and he has work as screenwriter in the most important enterntainment shows in the spanish tv, that contact with the mass media and the popular culture has influenced his work.
His work has been acquired by many national and international personalities, like the two times Moto Gp world champion Jorge Lorenzo that owns three pieces of the artist.
